16 young artists.

State Gallery of Fine Arts.

Hyderabad.

Did I just mention gallery of fine arts? Apologies dear friend, what i meant was a place that was supposed to be the finest gallery in Andhra Pradesh, even India for that matter, but as fate would have it- has turned out to be one of the finest indoor shooting studios.

In our stay for a week there, we saw the who's who of Telegu Film Industry, straight from Chiranjeevi to Prabhu deva. Any Andhra-ite would have given anything to be in our place.

Of the rare visitors that happened to enter the galleries, a few took a brisk walk, nodding and chanting "good. good" and everything they happened to cast their eyes on. the remaining inquired about the artists and the prices with unfulfilled promises to return and purchase.

One interesting gentleman happened to inquire all about art investments and the durability of our works.

"What kind of gains would I get if I pick up any of these?"

After a volley of questions, he happened to freeze on one of the paintings that accidentally happened to be mine! The reason for his choice was not anything but the title:

"Me, hussain and horses"
"This has the mention of Hussain in it, so I think this should get famous" He too went out of the exit- forever.
Finally, we packed all that we had with us and returned.
The gang consisting of an art promoter cum art material supplier, 5 senior artist that had another show in the same gallery, one senior lady who works in ceramics and me.
Two students of an art college tagged along who did nothing but laugh and enjoy the free stay! The fact that they did not sketch or study during the whole week was a bit hard to digest for me, but then again- who am i to pass any judgements?
