Pseudoism?

I have always had this keen interest in painting Gods and Goddesses. In my first exhibition- an image of Kali was made that looked quite similar to the one displayed here. The owner of the artwork recently told me that the same, when seen by a few priests was rejected immediately. Reason- The Goddess is not wearing any clothes!!!!

Ancient art works have always shown nudity, sex and  gory representations of Gods and Goddesses. Today, when sex is in deodorants, and condoms are sold to family audiences- there seems to be a greater threat to a creative mind- to speak or paint what he feels like. Yes, one may use nudity for publicity- but its given such criminal proportions as if the artist has done something that has never ever been done.

Is the artist pervert or the likes of saffron brigade?

If the latter, what gave them this power?
